I love seeing what other people have in their pantries and freezers. I have a lot of stuff that I'm sure is way too old. I just have such a hard time throwing stuf out. I know I should go through all my spices and my freezer and just start tossing.

I have a somewhat related question. What alcohol do you have on hand? And is it stupid to ask if alcohol goes bad? For example, my boyfriend has a bottle of Pimm's that I estimate to be about 4 to 5 years old. Do you think it's bad? I have not tasted it, but we were at the Hungry Cat Wednesday night and I had an extrordinary Pimm's cup and was thinking I'd try making one at home. I should just get a new bottle, right?

hi grant,

i have grand marnier, vodka and whiskey. for the last year or so i've only used the a bit of the grand marnier. alcohol doesn't really go bad so you should be able to use your pimm's.

i've never had pimm's (but i do like gin) nor pimm's cup. what are you putting in there?

yoony, this inventory is similiar to Surfas'. i wonder why???

I would advise getting a new bottle of Pimm's. It's a bitter drink with a hint of sweetness, so I speculate that the drink may have gone bad by now. (Sadly, my Pimm's has a hard time of staying longer than three weeks in my fridge.) I love it with Ginger Ale or Lemonade. Serve with mint or a cucumber slice. Yum! Yoony, you've had Pimm's before. Remember when I served it and you claimed that it tasted like Coca-cola? Happy Pimming!

hi sarah!

i realized the pantry list looks long but i still don't have much to eat! but it's comforting to have all the vinegars, oils, and spices ready to use. now produce - that's at least a few time a week job. got it keep it fresh!

how is demi-glace. in ur panty? is it some kind of instant demi-glace?

the demi-glace is good. it comes in a tiny tub and you thin it out w/water. i used it once to make steak sauce along w/red wine, shallots, thyme & roquefort cheese. quite yummy.
